Monday, June 2nd, was GLAAD and Ty Herndon’s annual Concert for Love & Acceptance in Nashville, Tennessee. The 10th annual event was a night to remember featuring special performances from some of the hottest names in country music and beyond.

Taking place at Nashville’s famous Category 10, stars like Dasha, David Archuleta, Ingrid Andress, Matt Bloyd, Brooke Eden, Jada Cato, Sam Williams, Morgxn, Tiera Kennedy, and many more.

Singer-songwriter Morgxn was awarded the Rising Star award at the concert. “My dream has twisted and turned and taken me to some great highs and great lows. I cried receiving this RISING STAR award from @tyherndonofficial and @glaad on Monday night. I cried during the standing ovation. It’s really hard to accept praise. But mostly I cried because what you see on the internet is always the highlights but I try and show you the real through this little lens. And I love the idea that my story is proof in the path of continuing to follow your dreams no matter what it looks like. Thank you for listening and being a part of this journey with me,” he said on Instagram.

Every year, the Concert For Love & Acceptance brings together the brightest stars in country music and garners millions of media impressions each year, sending messages of encouragement to LGBTQ individuals all around the world.

Last month, founder Ty Herndon announced that this year would be the 10th and final Concert for Love and Acceptance. “In 2014, I became the first major male country artist to come out as gay,” he wrote. “It was a deeply personal decision, but it also felt like a responsibility—to show others that they weren’t alone, that they could be both country and a member of the LGBTQ community. The Concert for Love & Acceptance was my way of amplifying that message and giving allies and fans a place to show their support publicly as so many of them had done privately behind the scenes.”

Founded in 2015, the Concert for Love & Acceptance has become a premier event during the week of CMA Fest dedicated to fostering a more inclusive country music community. Proceeds from the event support Ty Herndon’s Foundation For Love and Acceptance, which focuses on supporting the LGBTQ community alongside support for mental health, addiction, and trauma recovery.
